How to tell these print types apart

We’ve explained digital printing and its characteristics in several recent posts. The biggest difference between digital and other types of printing such as lithography, flexography, engraving or typography is that there is no need to replace the printing plates, such as in analog printing.  The main advantages of digital printing are cost reduction, speed, and high-quality printing.

The most commonly used printing methods are usually inkjet or laser.

“Web-to-print” impressions

Among the various kinds of digital printing, “web-to-print” is a method worth learning about. It allows you to print on demand directly from work via a computer (photo/word processing software) or from the internet. This technique provides great flexibility and allows you to take advantage of unexpected opportunities.

Moreover, this process is an asset of choice for the printing of customized label, self-adhesive labels, customized labels, cards and more

“Web-to-print” printing enables variable data printing, such as with submissions, and direct mailings.

Web-to-print is a real comfort for B2B companies wishing to control their printing:

  • Simplified ordering
  • Overview and Print history
  • Economies of scale

Electrophotographic printers

Unlike inkjet printers where the image is visible from the very beginning, electrophotography is characterized by a latent image. An intermediate image remains invisible even if it contains all the final information.

This type of printing uses toners which are deposited on an electrically charged drum before being fused to the page at high temperatures. Electrophotography is used for fax machines, copiers, and printers using regular paper.

This type of printing provides bright, vibrant colors and excellent quality for your product packaging as well.
